Description and Heritage Research Results
Letter posted in 1904 from Will mentions that Annie may write and has 'some news too!!'.

From investigating the Gushlow family posted on http://familytree.gushlow.com (link now appears dead) the following scenario might explain this. The Gushlow family below had an Arthur (the recipient of the card) and an Annie.

1891 Census:
Address: 13, Malden Road, Watford.
County: Hertfordshire.
GUSHLOW, George, Head, Married, M, 44, Artist In Bronzing, born 1847, Camberwell, Surrey.
GUSHLOW, Mary, Wife, Married, F, 42, born 1849, Bishopstone, Sussex.
GUSHLOW, Edith, Daughter, Single, F, 15, Scholar, born 1876, Hampstead, London.
GUSHLOW, Walter, Son, M, 13, Scholar, born 1878, Hampstead, London.
GUSHLOW, Ruth, Daughter, F, 11, Scholar, born 1880, Hampstead, London.
GUSHLOW, Arthur, Son, M, 9, Scholar, born 1882, Hampstead, London.
GUSHLOW, Annie, Daughter, F, 8, Scholar, born 1883, Hampstead, London.

1901 Census:
Household Members:
Name Age
George Gushlow 54
Mary Gushlow 51
Ruth Gushlow 21
Arthur Gushlow 19

FreeBMD:
Marriages Dec 1887
GLADMAN Mary, Watford, 3a, 788
Gushlow George, Watford, 3a, 788

From the above site ;

'Annie, born 28.03.1883 at Hampstead, married at Mount Zion Chapel, Watford,
15.06.1905, William Arthur Caffall of Wealdstone and afterwards of Ruislip, Middx'

In the 1911 Census William Arthur Caffal was a boarder at 1 Tentercroft St Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
He was married, aged 27 and a clerk of Genealogical Research, born (~1884) in Watford.

1891 Census:
Address: 6, Nascot Street, Watford.
County: Hertfordshire.
CAFFALL, Arthur, Head, Married, M, 37, Railway Servant, born 1854, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
CAFFALL, Sarah, Wife, Married, F, 35, born 1856, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
CAFFALL, William A, Son, M, 7, born 1884, Watford, Hertfordshire.
CAFFALL, James F, Son, M, 0 (10M), born 1891, Watford, Hertfordshire.

It is possible that 'Will' Caffall is writing to Arthur Gushlow and hinting at his engagement to Annie.
